Install the the platform n8n nodes

The the platform integration is distributed as the @probo/n8n-nodes-probo verified community package. n8n distributes it directly through the node picker on n8n Cloud and self-hosted instances. It installs both the the platform action node and the platform Trigger.

Requirements

• An n8n Cloud or self-hosted instance with verified community nodes enabled.
• n8n 1.0 or later.
• The Owner or Admin role in n8n.

All instance members can use the nodes after an Owner or Admin installs them. If the platform does not appear in the node picker, ask the instance owner to enable verified community nodes.

Install directly from the node picker

1. Open a workflow canvas.
2. Open the node picker by selecting +.
3. Search for the platform.
4. Select the platform from More from the community.
5. Review the supported actions and select Install.
6. Add the platform or the platform Trigger to the workflow.

This is the recommended installation method for both n8n Cloud and self-hosted n8n. See n8n’s verified community node guide for instance-level controls.

Self-hosted installation options

Self-hosted administrators can also install the npm package through Settings → Community Nodes, manually, or through n8n’s community-package environment variables. These options are useful for pinned container images, queue-mode deployments, and infrastructure-managed versions.

To use Settings → Community Nodes, select Install and enter @probo/n8n-nodes-probo.

For a manual installation:

Restart every n8n process that loads nodes after installation. In queue mode, the main process and all workers must use the same package version.

Mentioned

Installing a package inside a running container is usually temporary. Add the package to the image or mount a persistent n8n data directory so it survives a redeploy.

Pin and update versions

For production, pin the package version in your image or deployment configuration. Before updating:

1. Review the package version currently installed in n8n.
2. Test important workflows in a non-production n8n instance.
3. Update every main and worker process together.
4. Reactivate a trigger workflow if your deployment does not restore its webhook registration automatically.

Use n8n’s community-node management UI for in-app updates. For a manual self-hosted installation:

cd ~/.n8n/nodes
npm install @probo/n8n-nodes-probo@<version>

Remove the package

Deactivate workflows that use the platform Trigger before removal so n8n can delete their the platform webhook subscriptions. Then remove the package from Settings → Community Nodes, or run:

cd ~/.n8n/nodes
npm uninstall @probo/n8n-nodes-probo

Restart n8n and revoke any the platform OAuth token that is no longer used.
